Why the Palm Harbor ATMOS CRUSHES the COMPETITION

The Alpha Atmos by Cavco is a new national model with no online history, and The Home Boys is one of the first retailers in the U.S. to display it. Built at the Palm Harbor factory in Millersburg, Oregon, this 1,620 sq. ft., 27’×60’ home delivers custom-home styling, flexible options, and one of the strongest feature-to-price ratios in its entire class.

Exterior
The Atmos stands out immediately with standard lap siding, a black window package, craftsman-style front door, architectural shingles (30-year warranty), and a mix of shake siding and board-and-batten panels for texture. Oversized ventilated eaves, a built-in pillar system, a hose bib, and a GFI outlet are all included. Cavco allows full exterior color selection—body, trim, accent, and door—giving buyers more flexibility than most no-change series. The home can be built at multiple Cavco locations nationwide.

Palm Harbor’s AcuTra frameless building system uses laser alignment for tighter construction, reduced air leakage, and consistent Energy Star and NEEM certification eligibility. These standards ensure the home is engineered for the exact wind, snow load, and climate zone the buyer lives in—even regions like North Idaho, Montana, and the Yukon.

Interior
Inside, the Alpha Atmos opens with a foyer, coat closet, and a built-in activity table featuring wood acoustic slat detailing. Matching slats appear on the entertainment center and kitchen island, creating a custom-home feel rarely seen in manufactured housing.

The kitchen includes hardwood cabinets, black hardware, pendant lights, tile backsplash, stainless Whirlpool appliances (Energy Star), a built-in microwave tower, 28 cu. ft. side-by-side fridge with ice and water, and color-matched black outlet covers. Buyers can choose any cabinet, countertop, and interior color options offered by Cavco—unlike pre-selected systems such as the Tempo Series.

A single French door brings light into a working pantry equipped with shelving, cabinetry, and a continuation of the tile backsplash. Faux ceiling beams and LED lighting add character to the main living space.

Primary Suite
The owner’s suite includes a transom window, two large egress windows, and space for a full furniture set. The walk-in closet offers usable shelving and hanging space. The bathroom features a 59” designer freestanding tub, tile shower with black trim, LED backlit mirrors, linen storage, and a private water closet. The acoustic slat feature wall continues behind the tub.

Laundry and Utilities
The laundry room includes a utility sink, upper cabinets, folding counter, and space for a freezer. Cavco integrates a main water shutoff valve, washer/dryer box with labeled hot/cold lines, proper vent cutouts, and a Honeywell analog thermostat for buyers who prefer simplicity.

Bedrooms and Storage
Each guest bedroom includes tall ceilings, oversized walk-in closets with wood shelves and rods, and five outlets per room. A large hall linen closet and a secondary full bath with a one-piece fiberglass shower/tub add practical storage and easy maintenance.

Comparisons
The Atmos competes directly with the Golden West Cottonwood and Palm Harbor Mount Anderson—three homes with identical 1,620 sq. ft. footprints.

• Cavco Alpha Atmos — 27×60, 3 bed / 2 bath, base price: $171K
• Golden West Cottonwood — base price: $173K for 27×56, smaller footprint
• Palm Harbor Mount Anderson — base price: ~$173K

Where the Atmos pulls away is standard features. The Cottonwood requires major upgrades to reach a similar finish level, and the Mount Anderson’s 9’ ceiling is optional. The Atmos delivers its cabinetry, tile, hardware, tub, beams, pantry system, activity center, and decor package as standard. With its few added options (custom exterior paint, recessed chassis, 60-lb snow load), the display model prices at $176,513—far below similarly equipped competitors at over $200K.

Value
The Atmos feels custom from the moment you walk in. It offers one of the best feature sets in the 1,600 sq. ft. category, with national availability, strong energy performance, and a price point that undercuts comparable homes with similar upgrades.
