The Giant Sequoia by Golden West is the largest double-wide on our Spokane Valley lot, and one of the most flexible floor plans in the Inspiration Gold Series. At 2,280 sq. ft., 4 bedrooms, and two full baths, it’s designed for families who want space, natural light, and real customization without losing the efficiency and build quality Golden West is known for.
Exterior
The Giant Sequoia allows full control over the exterior. You can choose full lap siding, partial lap siding, board-and-batten, or mix-and-match treatments to break up the look and add more depth. The model on our lot has four rows of concrete lap siding wrapped around the front entry. LP SmartPanel is standard everywhere else. You can adjust colors, trim styles, and lighting. Golden West lets you pick from about 20 body and trim colors.
The home includes oversized low-E argon gas windows. We added fourteen 36x80-inch windows for maximum light without sacrificing Energy Star efficiency. Ridge venting is standard. Hardy Board concrete lap siding is optional for fire-zone requirements.
You can add exterior GFI outlets in the eaves for Christmas lights, choose between multiple lantern and exterior light options, and place exterior doors wherever they make the most sense with your garage or property layout. Hot and cold water hose bibs can be added around the perimeter.
Interior
Inside, the 9-foot ceilings and coffered details create a bright, open feel from the moment you step in. The living room, dining room, and kitchen blend together as one large space designed for entertaining. The eight-foot island is fully customizable. All stainless steel appliances are standard. Backsplashes, cabinet heights, and hardware can all be changed. The walk-in pantry can be enlarged or redesigned depending on your needs.
A large W10 window in the dining space makes it an ideal spot for a future porch connection or sliding glass door. Many buyers place a small deck here for direct access between the kitchen, dining room, and outdoor entertaining space.
Primary Suite
The primary bedroom features tall 36x80-inch windows and a high ceiling. In the bath, layouts are fully adjustable. You can keep the 72-inch tub, switch to an extended shower, add a corner tub, or redesign the entire space to enlarge the closet or pantry. Transom windows can be added for more light and privacy. The walk-in closet can be ordered with wood shelving or wire organizers.
Guest Bedrooms and Options
Three additional bedrooms sit on the opposite end of the home with a larger guest bath, extended tub/shower combo, and an additional linen closet. Each room can be adjusted in size for special uses. Buyers have turned these rooms into sewing studios, pool-table rooms, offices, or larger suites by moving interior walls. Most wall adjustments cost only a few hundred dollars and don’t trigger major engineering fees.
Flex Desk Area
A built-in desk sits in the central hallway. Many customers convert this space into a half bath, expanded closet, or storage room. Others use it as a homework zone. It’s optional and can be redesigned.
Secondary Living Room
The back family room is one of the home’s strongest selling points. It can function as a media room, playroom, bonus room, or even an additional bedroom. You can add a wet bar, wood fireplace, gas fireplace, or keep the included electric fireplace.
Mud Room
The rear entrance connects to a mud room with a sports-locker setup. The door can be relocated to align with a future garage. Buyers often add wrap-around folding counters, base cabinets, and upper cabinets. Transom windows add natural light without sacrificing wall space.
Efficiency
The Giant Sequoia qualifies for the eBuilt package and full Energy Star certification. Optional features include hybrid water heaters, Carrier Smart Comfort HVAC, and upgraded insulation. Even with fourteen oversized windows, the home maintains high efficiency ratings.
Comparisons
On our lot, the closest comparisons are the Shoshone and the Clover. The Shoshone is smaller, with a different layout and lower ceilings. The Clover has a farm-style interior but less separation between bedrooms. Golden West stands apart with its 9-foot ceilings and customization range. Fleetwood Waverly Crest offers similar materials but ceilings just under 8’6. All three factories meet HUD standards and use the same structural materials. Differences come from interior styling, decor, and flexibility.
Value
The Giant Sequoia is one of the best selling homes of 2025 because of its price per square foot. At just over $98 per sq. ft. for 2,280 sq. ft., it offers one of the lowest cost-per-square-foot numbers in the entire double-wide category. A smaller home doesn’t always equal a cheaper home. In this case, the larger footprint delivers more value and more customization options for growing families.
